Saints For Sinners Saint Martin de Porres Hand Painted Medal
Saint Martin’s parents were of two different races, and because of this, he was shunned. Yet, when people realized that Saint Martin had extraordinary healing powers, rich and poor flocked to him and he became a Dominican lay brother. Saint Martin ministered to all people, including slaves, regardless of social or financial status. Like Saints Francis and Kevin, Martin could converse with animals and founded one of the first animal shelters. According to his story, he was also able to be in two places at once, and could fly! Pray to Saint Martin de Porres, the patron of diversity and harmony, for the elimination of all forms of prejudice.
